Saturday, May 22nd: Shibori Japanese Tie-dye; Clamping and Binding with Instructor Kris Sader

(10am- 3pm; Break for Lunch) 

Come and learn the basics of Japanese Shibori しぼり/絞り! Shibori means to “wring, squeeze, or press”. Shibori is a Japanese manual resist dyeing technique, which produces patterns on fabric dating back to the 8th Century in Japan. Kris Sader will teach us how to manipulate fabric color with various shibori techniques. Color will be traditional indigo. All materials will be included in the cost. Studio has a fridge and microwave on sight. Please bring any food, or drinks you wish to have for the lunch break. Restaurants close by. Parking on street.

First Friday Artwalk : Central Street Studios Bangor Maine

Come see art in progress at the Central Street location. Artists are opening their studios for the First Friday each month for guests to visit, ask questions, see works in progress and buy items.
